The Writing Process Writing is a task that no two people do the same way.
However, there are some logical steps that every writer seems to follow in the
creation of a paper. The process described here outlines those basic steps.
Doing Research
Whenever you begin a research paper, there are things to do before you start
running around the library or writing the paper to make it EASIER, LESS
TIME-CONSUMING, and MORE ENJOYABLE.
How to Write a Term Paper This guide is designed to support you as you use electronic and print resources to write a term paper. All steps of the research process will be illustrated by examples that follow the creation of a research paper exploring Toni Morrison's novel Beloved. You will be able to track the development of a thesis from initial questions asked during the reading of Beloved to the documentation of material researched to develop that thesis.
Research & Writing The paper is your final product, but a research paper
involves an extensive process before you can generate the product. The Step by
Step section will guide you through this process from getting the assignment to
writing the paper.
Citation Machine Citation Machine is an interactive Web tool designed to
assist teachers and students in producing reference citations for crediting
information from other people. The principal goal of this tool is to make the
proper crediting of information property so easy that it becomes a habit, not a
laborious task that we stop doing outside of school.

Always remember to record the details about an item as you use it. Expository Text Expository text is written by authors to inform, to explain,
to describe, to present information or to persuade. Expository text is
subject-oriented and contains facts and information using little dialogue (Tonjes,
Wolpow, and Zintz, 1999).
Commentary
& Columns When certain people speak, we take notice. The same rule
applies to print journalism. We learn to trust certain writers' perspectives on
issues, or at least to anticipate their side of the issue. Even if we anticipate
we'll disagree, we'll read their work to gain fodder for our argument -- or
simply to be entertained.
